Coatings are transparent, so any swirls, haze or wash marring left in the paint will remain visible underneath. That is why every package begins with a condition assessment, thorough preparation, and machine polishing before Gtechniq protection is applied and cured in our controlled studio.

What is a ceramic coating?
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to the paint and cures into a hard, glossy layer. It does not change the colour or hide defects; it protects what is underneath and makes the surface easier to clean.
Is ceramic coating worth it?
It is worth it for owners who want easier maintenance, lasting gloss and better resistance to contamination. It is not a substitute for careful washing, and it will not stop stone chips.
Will a coating stop scratches and stone chips?
No. Hardness claims are routinely exaggerated. A coated car still picks up chips and scuffs — paint protection film is the answer for impact protection, and can be combined with a coating.
Why does the paint need polishing first?
Coatings are transparent, so swirls and haze are sealed in and made more obvious by the gloss on top. Correction always comes first, which is why the coating is part of a detailing package rather than a standalone product.
What is included in the price?
Every detailing package includes Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light with a five-year guarantee. Upgrading to EXO v5 or Crystal Serum Ultra costs extra, and prices rise with vehicle size.
Crystal Serum Light or Crystal Serum Ultra?
Serum Light suits most road cars and is guaranteed for five years. Serum Ultra is harder, thicker and guaranteed for nine, so it suits cars being kept long term or with high-value paint. Ultra can only be applied by accredited detailers.
How do I look after a coated car?
Maintain with washing with the right products, and avoid automated car washes or brushes. We provide aftercare guidance on handover, and maintenance washes can be booked with us.
How long does the work take?
Between one and three days depending on the correction level, and coatings cure in the studio overnight before the car is handed back.
