Paint correction and Gtechniq ceramic coating on an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
Only 500 8C Competiziones were built, so this one came to our Wiltshire studio for the work that suits a car of that kind: the paint corrected properly, then protected so it stays corrected. It was given a full paint correction detail and finished with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra topped with EXO v4.
Multi-stage paint correction
The car was safely washed and fully decontaminated, then machine polished to remove the swirl marks and finer scratches that had built up in the paint, before the finish was refined back to clarity. Red is one of the more demanding colours to correct: it holds swirls visibly under any direct light, and the before-and-after panels in the gallery show exactly what changes when they are taken out.
Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra and EXO v4
Crystal Serum Ultra is Gtechniq’s hardest coating and is only available through accredited detailers, which is why it is fitted rather than sold over the counter. It puts a hard, chemically resistant layer over the corrected paint, and EXO v4 was layered on top to add a slick, strongly water-repellent surface. The result is a car that stays cleaner between washes and is far less likely to pick the swirls back up during them. See the range on our Gtechniq ceramic coating page.
