What does a new car protection detail include?
Every package begins with a safe wash, chemical decontamination and detailed inspection of the paintwork and exterior surfaces.
A light machine polish is carried out where required before your selected protection is applied. Options include Gtechniq ceramic coating, XPEL paint protection film, wheel coating, glass treatment and interior protection.
Does a brand-new car need machine polishing?
New vehicles can arrive with transport contamination, adhesive residue, dealership wash marks, haze or minor paint defects.
We only carry out the level of polishing required to refine the finish and prepare it correctly, avoiding unnecessary correction on new paintwork.
Should I choose ceramic coating or paint protection film?
Ceramic coating enhances gloss, improves chemical resistance and makes routine washing easier, but it does not prevent stone chips.
Paint protection film provides a physical, self-healing barrier against stone chips, road debris and light scratches. The best choice depends on how the vehicle will be used and the areas most at risk.
Can paint protection film and ceramic coating be combined?
Yes. A popular option is to apply XPEL PPF to the highest-impact areas and ceramic coating to the remaining paintwork. The film can also be protected with Gtechniq Halo to improve hydrophobic performance and make maintenance easier.
This combination provides physical impact protection where it is most needed, together with gloss and easier cleaning across the rest of the vehicle.
How soon after delivery should my new car be protected?
Ideally, protection should be installed as soon as practical after collection, before the vehicle accumulates stone chips, wash marks and road contamination.
Where possible, ask the dealership not to apply a paint sealant, ceramic product or automatic-machine wash before delivery, as these may need to be removed during preparation.
How long does new car protection take?
A ceramic-coating-only package usually takes one to two days, allowing time for preparation, application and initial curing. Paint protection film and combination packages may require several days depending on the vehicle and coverage selected.

Can you collect my car from the dealership?
Vehicle collection and delivery can be arranged depending on the dealership location and our schedule. We can also assist with transfers to and from local railway stations when you bring the vehicle to our Hilperton studio.
