Multi-stage paint correction and Gtechniq coating on an Aston Martin DB11
This Aston Martin DB11 came to our Wiltshire studio in dark metallic blue for a full paint correction detail, finished with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light and two coats of EXO v4. The paint had the three things that ruin a dark metallic: swirl marks from washing, deeper scratches, and buffer trails left by machine work that was never finished properly.
Multi-stage machine polishing
After a safe wash and full exterior decontamination, the paint was machine polished over several stages: cutting to remove the swirls, scratches and buffer marks, then refining to take out the haze that cutting leaves behind. That last stage is the one most often skipped, and it is the reason holograms show up in the first place. The before-and-after panels in the gallery were shot under an inspection light, which shows the paint as it really is rather than as sunlight flatters it.
Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light and EXO v4
Correction like this is worth protecting, so the finish was sealed with Crystal Serum Light and two coats of EXO v4 over the top. The coating puts a hard, chemically resistant layer over the corrected paint, and EXO adds a slick, strongly water-repellent surface so the car sheds water and road grime and stays cleaner between washes.
