Full-car XPEL paint protection film on a San Merino Blue BMW M3 CS
This BMW M3 CS came to our Wiltshire studio in San Merino Blue for full coverage in XPEL Ultimate Plus paint protection film. A limited-run M car in a dark metallic is exactly the sort of thing owners want keeping as it left the factory, and film is the only protection that stops a stone chip rather than simply making the paint easier to clean.
Preparation before the film
Film is clear, so anything left in the paint underneath it stays there and is sealed in for years. The car was given a full exterior decontamination followed by a single-stage machine polish to take out the light marring and bring the gloss up before any film went on. On a colour like San Merino Blue that step is the difference between film over flat paint and film over paint that still has depth to it.
Full coverage in XPEL Ultimate Plus
Every exterior painted panel was covered. XPEL Ultimate Plus is self-healing, so light marks in the surface of the film disappear with heat, and it carries a 10-year warranty against yellowing and peeling. Patterns are computer-cut on site rather than cut on the vehicle, with edges wrapped and tucked wherever the panel allows, so the film is protecting the car instead of leaving a visible line across it.
Coverage is matched to how the car is used, from front-end packages to the full car. The options are set out on our BMW paint protection page.
