Full-car XPEL paint protection film on a Gentian Blue Porsche 992 GT3
This 2023 Porsche 992 GT3 in Gentian Blue came to our Wiltshire studio for full exterior coverage in XPEL paint protection film, across every painted and carbon fibre surface. A GT3 is built to be driven, and film is the only protection that actually stops a stone chip rather than making the paint easier to clean afterwards.
Preparation before the film
Film is clear, so anything left in the paint underneath is sealed in for years. The car was safely washed and fully decontaminated before any film went near it, and panels were removed where that gives a better wrap than working around an edge. The gallery shows the front end stripped and the car on the lift, which is what full coverage actually involves.
Full coverage, painted and carbon fibre surfaces
Every exterior panel was covered, including the carbon fibre, which scratches and scuffs as readily as paint and costs considerably more to put right. The film is self-healing, so light marks in its surface disappear with heat, and it carries a 10-year warranty against yellowing and peeling. Patterns are computer-cut on site rather than cut on the vehicle, with edges wrapped and tucked wherever the panel allows, so the protection is invisible at arm’s length.
